We are thrilled to announce the location for Pride this year – the Lane Events Center! This will be a big change for the event, and we invite you to join us as we collectively create a re-imagined Pride Festival for the Eugene/Springfield area.
While there will be many significant changes to the festival, you can expect the same fun, welcoming, celebratory, all ages atmosphere that you have experienced at Pride in the Park. We will continue to start the day at Kesey Square with our Equality Rally followed by a march to the Lane Events Center. It’s more important than ever to organize, build community, and demonstrate – we are not going back and will not be erased from public view!
Some of the changes you can expect at the new location include a much more accessible event for people who use a wheelchair or otherwise have mobility challenges, as well as for those who have difficulty in the heat or during days with bad air quality. There will be plenty of parking, and the Lane Events Center is much more accessible for those traveling to the event by bus. You can expect gated entry and a fully fenced perimeter to keep the event more secure, which will mean a clear bag policy for attendees.
We’ll have sponsor/vendor registration and the application to be an entertainer or volunteer available soon. There will be ample opportunities for local artists to help us transform the physical space for the festival, too. We will be making regular announcements with event details over the next several months, so stay tuned. We look forward to celebrating with you during Pride Month on the 56th anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising this June 28th!
