PRIDE DAY EQUALITY PROJECT
The Pride Day Equality Project Scholarship was started in 2018 as way to support youth from within the LGBTQIA+ community as they move out into the world.
The Scholarship is awarded to the high school senior(s) and/or current college student(s) who best meet the requirements set forth by the Scholarship Selection Committee. Applicants must be a member of the LGBTQIA+ community or have parent(s) or guardian(s) who are.
The Scholarship is funded through donations at Pride and year-round on our website and at various Pride Day Equality Project events.
GUIDELINES FOR THE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
Scholarships are open to graduating high school seniors and students currently enrolled at any college or university. Scholarship monies will be be paid directly to the educational institution in the student's name.
Student applicants must meet the following guidelines:
Must have a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale.
Must have acquired acceptance to, or be enrolled at, an accredited college or University of their choice and must be an enrolled full-time student for the fall semester of the next school year.
Student applicant should note any special financial needs on their application form.
Applications must be postmarked by April 30th of the current school year.
The Scholarship Selection Committee reviews and scores all submitted applications, at which point the applicant’s references may be contacted by telephone. The Scholarship Committee may also choose to interview applicants by phone or in person.
Successful applicants will be notified on or before May 31 of the current school year.
